A man (played by Tatsuya Fujiwara) possesses a special ability to manipulate others (mind-control) and stop time with just his eyes. Because of this special ability, he killed his abusive father and was abandoned by his mother. He now lives a lonely life in the dark side of a city. Meanwhile, Shuichi Tanaka (played by Takayuki Yamada) doesn't have a family and lives with his friends. Even though he is poor, he has a bright outlook on life. One day, the man with the evil eye power becomes confused because he can't freeze and manipulate Shuichi. He will hunt him down to destroy him because he knows his secret. Every time the vilain uses his eye power, it affects his leg and he'll limp more and more.Through this battle, we discover that Shuichi also has a gift, he can heal very quickly from his wounds. Who will win the fight?

Hideo Nakata decided to do a remake of the excellent Korean movie "HAUNTERS".
He respect the basic idea of the two protagonists but like many movies, it doesn't beat the original. It's still good imo but I must admit it dragged towards the end as they both have the chance to handle a gun but they don't shoot (sorry for spoiler) and use their power over & over.
There's a nice honor to the Akira manga

Anyway I've been eagerly awaiting to watch this remake and I can't be the only one
So I'm bringing it here. Another goodie from jpfiles.
