Posted 20/07/2015 Film

Versatile director Kao Li works with scripter Yuan Chun to realize this action epic of merciless men lusting to be emperor and the patriotic secret society dedicated to stopping them. The great Chang I stars as the consummate title martial arts master who can defeat a squad of soldiers with just a fan. The lovely woman warriors Yu Hui, Shu Pei-pei, and Chiao Chiao are also on hand as undercover swordswomen and concubines who fight to the death to save their country...and themselves.

Uploader's Comments:
This disc was previously uploaded as a DVD5 in ISO form by dvddown and recently re-shared in VIDEO_TS form by AlexanderFu (thanks to them for introducing ADC to the movie).

This upload is my own completely untouched rip of the original IVL disc and it's a DVD9 (the movie is 5.72GB). Also, the audio track is 5.1 instead of the 2.0 mentioned on dvddown's upload. 600ppp scans of the cover and disc are included in the torrent (in uncompressed PNG).

Dvddown says his rip is also of an uncompressed original IVL and I have no reason to doubt him. That being said, I'd certainly be interested if someone could shed some light on why there are two IVL discs of different size and featuring a different audio mix. Because, as far as I know it's unheard of for IVL's Shaw catalog, and I certainly can't explain it. Nor why it happened for such an unknown movie. Is it possible that IVL repressed some of their movies and downgraded the DVD9 to DVD5 in the process? If so, why would they go through the trouble of switching the audio back to the original mix on such an unknown title when they left their horrendous 5.1 mixes on later represses of fan-favorite titles (The 14 Amazons for instance)?
